Paragraph: Causes and effects of drug addiction

'Drug, and medicine', are synonyms. Father of modern medicine, William Withering said, every medicine is poison and every poison may be medicine depending on proportion and use. The narcotics that are called drugs are also medicines. When they are extravagantly used they form addiction. There are many types of such drugs, I would not name them because naming them is also a sin. Usually people who become extremely frustrated in life, they become the victims of drugs. People of any age, any sex may become victim of drugs. It depends upon the psycho-social setting to which they belong. Severity of poverty or redundance of property both may lead an individual to a state of utter aloneness that forms a sort of negative attitude to life and society. The Victim rejecting everything of life wants to conceal himself in an aura of fake pleasure, fake forgetfulness and peace. It has broken out as an epidemic among the teenagers specially. Both society and state should come forward to check the epidemic immediately. By raising mass consciousness, allowing the teenagers to be involved in clean amusements and sports this may be partially checked. Parents, society and the state should come forward with a distinct and effective programme to save the addicts. Through clinical treatment, psychological counseling the victims may be rehabilitated. They should be warned not to be curious again about the drugs and urged to shun evil company, nihilistic thoughts altogether. Thus this monster may be checked if not killed.
