Composition: How the Thief was Found Out | Class 9-10,11-12

A rich man had a lot of servants one day a servant stole his costly watch he made a witty trick the thief cut an inch of his stick in order to make it equal next day the thief was found out.

How the Thief was Found Out (কীভাবে চোর ধরা পড়ল) 

Ans: Once there lived a rich man. He had a lot of servants in the house. The servants were very faithful to him. He put his trust in them. But one day one of his servants stole his costly watch. He made a search for his stolen watch but in vain Then he chalked out a witty trick. He called all his servants and gave each of them a stick of the same length. He said that the stick of the person would get longer by an inch next day. He told it so seriously that the real thief believed it. He got frightened and became nervous.

He thought that if he would cut an inch from his stick, it would be equal to other sticks and he would not be detected as a thief. The thief went to his room, closed the door and cut an inch from the stick secretly. The next morning all the servants were asked to meet the rich man with their sticks. The real thief was trembling with fear. The rich man looked at him and saw that he was carrying a stick one inch shorter than others. The rich man looked at him and asked, "Why do you look so nervous?" The servant kept silent and said nothing. The rich man ordered all the servants to show their sticks.

Everyone showed his stick, but the real thief didn't like to show it. So the rich man asked him. "What's the matter, why aren't you showing the stick that I gave you last night?" The servant became more nervous and began to weep. Thus, the thief was detected easily.
